Stuart Pearce MBE



















Equally strong in Forest or England shirt, he was tough and unforgiving in the tackle, but never dirty. He charged up the left wing like a steam train - not only were the opposition's attackers afraid of him, but the full-backs had to be wary too.

When he joined Nottingham Forest from Coventry City in 1985 Stuart Pearce was still working part time as an electrician and even advertised his services in the match programme (!).

Is Beat a history now?


Jackson Pollock - Blue (Moby Dick)

A museum of art giants of the Beat period has opened in the San Francisco neighbourhood where the movement started a half a century ago. Manuscripts, letters and first editions from Jack Kerouac, Charles Bukowski, Bob Kaufman, Allen Ginsberg and many others are among the items on display.
